Planners Seek Public Input for Enhancement Project in Fondren

The City of Jackson is requesting public input for a transportation enhancement project for the Fondren area. This special 'brainstorming' session will be held next Monday, April 9 from 4:30pm – 6:30pm at Duling Hall at 622 Duling Avenue. The meeting will allow for public input as to the needs that could be addressed and representatives from the City, along with Neel Schaffer, the firm awarded the grant, will be on hand.

Horace Slay Auto Sales, now for sale or lease

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - The dealership is famous for it's real 1965 Corvette, mounted on a raised platform at the corner of South State Street and Rankin.

Slay has been selling cars here since 1960. Horace Slay has decided at age 85, it's time to call it quits.

This area of Jackson was once known as "Auto Row".

Slay's son, 64-year-old Scotty Slay, hopes to lease the business or sell it. The Corvette will go with it if whoever buys or leases wants to buy the name too.
