Free basic dental care will be offered in Jackson for adults and children who don't have access to dental care through dental insurance or other programs.
The first-ever Mississippi Mission of Mercy will be held Friday and Saturday, July 15 and 16, at the Jackson Convention Complex.
Mississippi dentists and other health providers along with community volunteers from across the state will provide free basic dental care. The clinic is being sponsored by the Mississippi Dental Association Foundation and other organizations, including the University of Mississippi School of Dentistry.
Doors of the Jackson Convention Complex will open at 6 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. No income or eligibility requirements are necessary.
Professional volunteers will provide basic dental care free of charge to adults and children of all ages on a first-come, first-served basis.
Volunteers will treat as many patients as possible during the two-day event, providing fillings and extractions. The goal is provide treatment to as many people as possible in an effort to relieve pain and suffering at no cost.
