First Day Program Saturday | Community Spirit

The City of Jackson will host a citywide celebration to kick off the school year in a major way.  The First Day Program: Getting into the Groove for School will feature free haircuts, entertainment, and over forty vendors.

Parents, students, teachers and community leaders are invited to take part in the biggest back to school celebration in the Capital City. First Day 2011 kicks off at 3 p.m. at the Jackson Convention Complex with Jackson State University’s Sonic Boom of the South and cheerleaders and remarks by Mayor Harvey Johnson, Jr.
